Ms. Brown, of Fairfax County , Virginia , joined the firm in June 2006. Ms. Brown earned her B.A. in Foreign Affairs with a minor in Spanish from the University of Virginia in 1996 and received her law degree from George Mason University School of Law in 1999. Ms. Brown is currently admitted to the bars of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia . Ms. Brown also serves as a Liaison between the Young Lawyers Division and the ABA Construction Industry Forum, Division Five: Contract Negotiation, Performance and Administration.
While in law school, Ms. Brown served as a Law Clerk with the NAACP, where she worked on issues related to Affirmative Action in higher education and counseled individuals regarding violations of their civil rights. Ms. Brown also served as an intern with the U.S. House of Representatives, Subcommittee on Government Reform and Oversight.
After receiving her law degree, Ms, Brown joined the law firm of Russell & Russell, P.C. in Falls Church , Virginia . While at Russell & Russell, Ms. Brown represented individuals in litigation involving the denial of payment of insurance claims and violations of wage and hour laws. Ms. Brown also drafted corporate governance documents, including Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and limited liability and partnership structure agreements.
Ms. Brown joined the law firm of Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker LLP in 2002. She represented insurance companies, their insureds, and other corporate entities in arbitration, mediation, and litigation involving construction disputes, coverage disputes, employment discrimination, medical malpractice and product defect matters.
